At modulyss, we believe old carpet tiles are too valuable to throw away. That's why our take back service helps keep materials in use and reduce waste, offering a simple and efficient way to reuse or recycle your old carpet tiles and turn them into usable resources.
What we do: from old carpet tiles to new possibilities
Our take back service collects used carpet tiles and gives them a next use in one of the following ways:
- As secondhand tiles: If your carpet tiles are still in good shape, they'll be cleaned thoroughly and sold as secondhand items by our partners.
- As a resource for new tiles or backings: In our back2back-process, we recycle used carpet tiles with a bitumen backing into the backing of new carpet tiles. If your old carpet tiles have an ecoBack backing, we'll recycle them into new carpet tiles and yarns.
- As a resource for the cement industry: If your old carpet tiles cannot be resold or reused, they are sent for energy recovery as a secondary fuel. The mineral residue from this process is recycled as a raw material substitute in cement production — replacing virgin limestone. This is our option of last resort, after reuse and recycling.
