Design guide Artcore

A step-by-step approach to patterned transitions

Welcome to the Artcore design guide, where we make it easy for architects and designers to understand how to place the Artcore tiles.

Be inspired by the concept of biophilic design and use the four patterns to create beautiful and seamless pattern transitions.

Think wildly and blend naturally.

Follow these steps to create your unique Artcore pattern transition.

STEP 1

To create transitions, always start from the main pattern of the collection: Core. Then choose a
second pattern and, to connect them, the respective gradient tile.

NOTE: Gradient tiles are a mix of Core and a second pattern.

STEP 2

Build your floor with the selected patterns. See the example where we connect ‘Core’ to ‘Litho’ through the respective gradient tile.

NOTE: Gradient tiles can be turned 180° to fit the floor design.

STEP 3

Choose your installation orientation (horizontal or vertical) and apply the ‘brick’ installation method.

Go wild with the brick installation method to create natural pattern transitions.

Experiment with organic transitions.

Installation tips

  • With gradient tiles, follow your design during installation.

  • Although installation typically follows the arrows on the back of the tiles, gradient tiles may require a 180° turn, overriding the arrow. An extra note is included in gradient boxes for reference.

Integrate tiles into your CAD programme

  • Download the tile images
  • Download the BIM files
  • To use gradients, download the images and occasionally use them with a 180° rotation.
