Installing Carpet Tiles
We summarised the most important installation guidelines below. Following these tips, installing your carpet tiles can’t go wrong. For more detailed information, download our full carpet tile installation guide.
Easy Installation
Carpet tiles not only allow you to be more creative in design than regular broadloom carpeting, they also significantly reduce installation and replacement waste. Easy to place, easy to replace: carpet tiles provide a durable flooring solution.
- Smaller cutting loss
- Phased installation possible
- Waterproof material
- Flexible, but hardly deformable
- No permanent gluing needed
Minituft Carpet Tiles
With their low profile structure, minituft carpet tiles provide a clean minimalist aesthetic. However, due to this structure, greater attention to detail is required during installation to achieve a perfect finish.
Installing Pattern Gradients
Gradient tiles blend two patterns for fluid, dynamic floor designs. During installation, closely follow your floor design, turning gradients 180° as needed. Dive deeper into creating pattern transitions with our specific guides.
Flex Fitters
These self-adhesive tabs are an ideal alternative to the traditional adhesives used for the installation of back2back equipped carpet tiles and planks.
With a negligible amount of VOCs, leading to a better indoor air quality, and a higher recyclability of both the tabs and the carpet tiles, this flexible method offers a sustainable solution.
Installing Your LVT Flooring
Ready to install your luxury vinyl tiles? You’ll master it in no time. If properly installed, your new LVT flooring will be easy to maintain and will look great for years to come. Let’s have a look at how you can prepare for installation, do the actual installation, and take care of your installed LVT floor afterwards.
Prepare for Installation
Store, Inspect and Acclimatise
Store your LVT floor covering laying down flat, not standing up. Let your tiles or planks acclimatise in a dry and ventilated area (ideally where the installation has to be done), minimally 24 hours before installation. Be sure to inspect your materials for visual defects. In case of defects, do not install your LVT products, but contact modulyss first.
Prepare your subfloor
Before you install, check the quality and levelness of your subfloor, and remove any residual moisture. Clean your surface with a vacuum cleaner and a mop to remove dust, contamination or other substances. Be sure to check the moisture content of your subfloor. If applicable, make sure your underfloor heating system is switched off, at least 48 hours before the installation.
Measure and plan
Now determine your LVT layout according to your room dimensions. Decide on the installation direction. Then, calculate how the planks or tiles will be distributed across the width of the area. Draw chalk lines on the floor as visual guides.
During & After LVT Installation
Install Your Looselay LVT Floor
Loose lay LVT installation is quick and easy. First, spread out the right amount of adhesive or tackifier evenly over the subfloor and let it rest until it reaches the optimal level of stickiness. Lay the planks or tiles onto the adhesive and press to let the adhesive fully transfer onto the LVT backing. Make sure the tiles rest free of tension against the wall.
Taking Care of Your LVT Floor
An LVT floor needs some love and taking care of. A regular maintenance routine, using the best cleaning practices, is the best guarantee to expand the lifetime and durability of your LVT flooring.
